Please Be Aware :  This breed does not have to be "trained" to be guardians, it is an impressively strong, natural instinct that this breed has been specifically bred for by shepherds and herdsmen for generations in Italy.  Unfortunatley, we have heard of some Maremma breeders telling their customers that even though they have already paid several hundred dollars for their puppy, they will not receive their puppy for several months due to the need for "training" at the seller's farm, and in the intereim, boarding fees need to be paid.  Please be aware of and beware of these these practices that just take your money.
